Why soccer clubs order scarves
In the US, the scarf has become the signature piece of soccer culture. Walk into any MLS or USL stadium and the stands are full of them. Youth and amateur clubs have caught on: a club scarf makes a 10-year-old feel like part of something bigger, and it gives parents on the sideline an easy way to rep the club.
It also pays for itself. At 250 pieces, a knit scarf costs $4.85 each, and club scarves typically sell for $20.00 to $30.00 at games, tryouts and the team store. A preseason order can cover part of a travel team's tournament fees or new training gear.
