How a jacquard knit scarf is made
Jacquard is a knitting technique, not a print. The knitting machine carries several colored yarns at once and decides, stitch by stitch, which one shows on the face of the scarf. Your design is literally part of the fabric. That is why a knit scarf still looks sharp after years of tailgates, away trips and trips through the washing machine.
Because the knit is double-layered, the back shows the same design in reverse colors: the background color becomes the text color and vice versa. That two-tone, reversible look is what makes a stadium scarf instantly recognizable, from MLS supporters sections to college student sections.
The double layer also traps air, which is why a knit scarf is noticeably warmer than a printed one. If your season runs into November playoffs, a cold hockey rink or a December bowl game, this is the scarf you want.
